Khalil Mustapha Muhammad was born on February 6. 2023 and made his transition on record, April 23, 2025. Finding out that he was a boy put us on the journey of finding the perfect name. Khalil Mustapha is an Arabic name which means “friend of Allah” and “chosen one”. We prayed that his life would honor that name , little did we know just how much it would.
Khalil’s Life
The First Year
His first year of life was presented with many challenges. Three months after his birth was his first long hospital stay. Following that we had 3 more. There was never any official diagnosis of what was causing him to be sick. All the tests that were taken gave evidence to a healthy little boy. Through much consultation, recommendations from doctors and health practitioners, and research we begin our journey of nursing him to good health.
The Second Year…
The second year of his life seemed so promising. He went a full 12 months without being sick. That was such a blessing to him and us. Being ill seemed like a thing of the past. He played, danced, and enjoyed every second of life from the time he woke up and would go to sleep.
Khalil loved…
Khalil loved to build/stack things. He also really loved to read and play with his older brother Khair and kiss on his little sister Ava. He loved to play outside, play basketball, and so much more. He was very affectionate with the women of his family. He gave us plenty of kisses and gentle pats on our faces. We will always miss him and hold him in our hearts.
